I ordered a set of dumbbells from Lifts and Gravy and realized I had chosen the ‘Collection from us’ delivery option by mistake. I tried calling the number listed on their site a few times and also messaged their WhatsApp account, but no luck there. I then sent an email to the Team, and they initially got back to me pretty fast, sorting out my delivery issue by asking for a payment of £7.99. At that point, everything seemed alright since I was told the dumbbells would arrive by Friday. However, Friday rolled around, and I hadn’t received any updates about my order, so I had to reach out several times during the day. Finally, I got two DPD tracking links, and the dumbbells showed up the next day, which was a bit of a letdown. The takeaway here is that keeping customers in the loop with updates is crucial, especially in 2023 when folks have plenty of options for online shopping.

I placed an order for some plates from Northern about a month back. They assured me I'd get my stuff within a week since I was heading out, but two weeks later, I was still left hanging. By the time I finally got my order, I had already received two deliveries from Decathlon and Mirafit, which didn’t charge me for shipping. At that point, I wasn’t too worried, so I asked if I could add some collars to my order (of course, I was ready to pay extra) - the owner was cool about it.

After waiting over two weeks, I was let down to see that some plates appeared used, the collars didn’t match what was shown online, and two 20kg plates were missing (as per Parcel Force).

Northern refunded me for the collars and gave back 25% of the cost for the used plates, promising to send replacements (used) for the 20kg plates since they were low on stock. I agreed, but to my disappointment, three weeks later, those new plates still haven’t shown up, and I can’t get in touch with their customer service. Seriously, steer clear of this mess of a business and stick with a more reliable brand.

It’s a bummer because I really dig their branding, and most of the products were decent for the price. But honestly, it’s just not worth the headache for a mere 10% savings compared to the brands listed above.

I ordered a couple of kettlebells, and they took a bit longer to arrive than I thought they would. The company explained it was due to being short on staff. I got them last night after one of their team members went above and beyond to bring them to me. The weights are solid, and the prices are really good as well.

I ran into a bit of trouble getting in touch at first because of some hiccups, but they handled it quickly and sorted everything out. The gear showed up not long after.

At first, I didn’t hear anything about my order and couldn’t get a hold of anyone when I tried to reach out. But once I finally got through, Northern was super apologetic and really worked hard to get my order sorted out and sent to me fast.

I'm really digging the camo bumper plates now that they're here, and I can't wait to put them to use!
